THANK YOU

Canon David and Father Phillip would like to thank everyone for their enormous generosity, gifts and cards this Christmas and wish everyone a very happy and peaceful New Year.

A special thank you to all the ministries that worked extra hard during this busy season to enhance our liturgies with music, decorations and service. Everything was spectacular! Thank you to all volunteers for their hard work and dedication throughout the past year.

Thank you also for your support with the Christmas Voucher Appeal to help the poor and homeless of our city this Christmas.

CRIB COLLECTION/OFFERINGS

The Crib Offerings by the Nativity scene are for the benefit of Christian Schools in the Holy Land. The Christians in the Holy Land, including Bethlehem are experiencing extreme difficulties and dangers. Education is one area that is severely affected by the situation and is getting worse. Please be generous with your prayers and money to help the children in the Holy Land.

WOOLLEY HATS FOR SEAFARERS

It can be very cold at sea on the deck of a ship, and seafarers coming into our ports bringing in much of the food we enjoy from overseas. They are appreciative of gifts of these warm hats, and the assurance that they are remembered in our prayers. Hats can be left in the Book Shop to be sent to the Apostleship of the Sea.

THE BETHANY GROUP

The Cathedral Bereavement Group meets on the first Thursday of each month at 0945 in St John’s Room and afterwards at 1030 in the Coffee Shop. Its purpose is to offer practical help, support or friendship to those who suffer loss or bereavement of any kind.

Bereavement and loss can be felt even more acutely at this time of the year. You might like to pause for a moment and reflect at the Prayer Corner by Our Lady’s Chapel in the Cathedral.
